Welcome to your own hell young man
as you casually hold your sweat hearts hand
arrival at the shopping mall
she wants it all, or nothing at all
and you must wait
first you are patient and caring
but inside, you'll be swearing
the mirrored columns start out as friends
but repetition, it's a tiresome end
meandering between the racks
looking at endless rows of slacks
one of many, on invisible leads
bored tired pets, just here to please
your face is your only consolation
posing in each and every station
and checking out the girl at the till
until your busted., a minor spill
So, at last you go for something to eat
a welcome break for tired feet.
Guess who's paying? Debit attack
but it's better than walking round the racks
pretending to like just to get along
she reads you like a nursery song
you finish your food, despite her disgust
at your table manners, you eat in a rush
the bags of clothes between your feet
the day is almost complete
then you bump into her friends
the torture will never end
as they chit and chat in miming movement
this day is surely due an improvement
but at last, endeth inane chat
about her and him and this and that
the muzak is over you're back in the car
you remind her of her promise to wear that sexy bra
her mood is altered, you really faltered
and she sees you for what you are
a mug
