Lemon Drop Sun

The sun hung high in the sky today,
like my favorite childhood lemon drop candy.
Bright yellow against azure blue
not a puff of clouds anywhere to be found.
The wind whispered here and there
a soft sigh in the warmth.
Cool of the pool, a dunk for bared toes
and my skin being painted bronze hue's.
Lost within myself, sky gazing
tall pines reaching the heavens.
A date with my lemon drop candy sun
my soul is free once more.
