Fragile.
We become delicate puppets when dealing with the human heart
I learned to never make the same mistake twice
So now I keep Kevlar and Polaroid’s stitched inside my seams, just in case I come apart
See, I love the memory of your face, but I hate the way you feel
So let’s make love without the love and pretend this is everything but real
Feeling less leads to meaning less and eases the emotional connection
Set the bridges afire and relish in the rejection
Promise to break your promises and I’ll feed you lies while I look you dead in the eyes
It sounds so perfect when you know what to expect
A single kiss goodbye before moving on to the next
Don’t hate me for the lessons I’ve learned, and the ones you’ve taught me
This is how it has to be, shallow and empty
Now hold me close and neglect me, give me a second of peace then forget me
Just the way I need it…
To make sure I never feel it.
