My Marine

I roll over, hoping to see your face
Only to notice you're gone.
Begin to think
How could things go so wrong.
All the laughs and tears we shared
Were taken away by someone who didn't care.
When you came home
You were supposed to be by my side.
Sittin in this cool sand
Watching the stars during the high tide.
I'd do anything to have you back here with me
At the table, extra sugar, no milk in your coffee.
All I been able to do is hold my head and cry
The only thought going thru my head is why why why.
None of this was supposed to happen
We were supposed to go together, to heaven.
Tomorrow I'm headed to the cemetary
To show you love, respect that you died for our country.
I catch myself listeing to our answering machine
Just to hear your voice.
I miss you so much
Hearing your voice makes me rejoice.
You weren't supposed to leave us so soon
I don't know what to do.
Everynight I look at my Marine in the photo
Holding it tight, telling you I love you, I miss you.
