I wind down the window of my car
the traffic jam imprisons me
head pokes out,but it stretches far

my fuel gage, it causes rage.
Near empty, I switch keys to off.
The air con whirs its final throes
who caused this? They will get my wrath.

for every time there's sun and rain
these idiots who cannot drive
bump or screech, they cause a drain
and in my car I sit and writhe.

emergency,it jump starts me,
on the opposite carriageway
two ambulances speed on by
their flashing lights and sirens blaze

it sobers thoughts, my selfishness
I fain response. are they Ok?
But this is just a sentiment
I was programmed to be that way.

The raindrops fall, it's quite a squall
my windscreen blurs a thankful change
my mobile phone, I call my home
meetings I must rearrange

I search for sweets, or bites to eat
and find things that I lost before
car park receipts, nothing is neat
rummaged through, in drivers door.

the car in front shakes, on the hunt
we're in business, I turn the key
the engine starts, slowly we dart
then quickly, must get back for tea

then it goes by. I notice why
we were held up for quite a while
a car like mine, but half the size
crushed in an alarming style

it sobers thoughts, my selfishness
I know now, they were not okay
the subject of an accident
could be me on another day.
