Verses from the Broken-Hearted

Was it your warm, brown eyes,
Or your sweet smile that lured me in?
Maybe it was the dusted freckles upon your cheeks,
Or the tender voice that made my head spin.
Either way, you had me baffled, you really did.
And being a naive girl, I believed.
But even after all the time and secrets we shared,
I realize I was no more than deceived.
I'm really glad
You can't hear my cries.
For I am - once again - reminiscing,
Your bitter-sweet lies.
Heartbreak can't even describe this pain.
It's nothing like I ever experienced before.
It's more sadness and betrayal.
But it can't go by ignored.
I know I will eventually get over this.
But it will take some time.
I guess I just have to realize,
You were never fully mine.
