[hometext] => While walking in the snow the other night, I saw a sky that glowed, was it with joy? I think it was.
[bodytext] => Way up here the whole world is hushed with content,
The sky is wide eyed and joyous
At the thought of the ice age returning.
Even the sapling trees, whip cracked and raw,
Are dozing blissfully in the glow of a molten moon.
The lake is a vast continent of cultured ice,
Criss crossed by webbed feet and a fresh dusting of snow.
Far away on the road below
The traffic is crawling by, a mirage of metal and rubber
Turning the pure white of the snow to black sludge,
A stain spreading slowly through the streets of the town.
I snuggle deeper into my great coat,
Pull my hat lower over reddened ears.
I listen to the snow whispering in the hedgerow,
Hear the moon shift in the joyous sky.
