A Love Lost Long Ago

Once upon a time I would have said
I’d love you until forever ends
You took my heart and broke it
But I still love you with all the little pieces
But leaving you made me stronger
Because loving you and not been loved in return
Made me wish I could die
I can’t make you love me.
A thousand words wouldn’t bring you back
Nor a thousand tears
But I’ll keep a part of you with me.
You thought me how to love
Then you left with out telling me how to stop
You’d make me cry then you’d walk away
Like a fool I always followed
Just to me pushed away
You made me feel invisible.
You crushed my soul you broke my heart
Stole my dreams, my passion, my life
And still I ask why you’re gone.
I hope when you think of me
You think what you could of have
But let go.
So I leave you now without a word
Because words would only
Make it feel real.
