Blind Love

Dewy drops appear like rain
Across the moonlight bridge
Sending chills back home again
To the residents of Cabot’s Ridge

It was a night much like this
When Charlotte lost her soul
Looking for everlasting bliss
Her heart was the toll

Now every autumn about this time
The symbols begin to appear
Letting people know by signs
That the haunting time is near

Soon all will leave this place
Go far away for a few nights
They are in a fast race
When they see these sights

Horrid was Charlottes end
Worse the fate of any she crosses
No use to try and pretend
There have been too many losses

He chooses to stay behind
He wants to end this torment
He thinks because he’s blind
That is why he was sent

A chill across his face
A tingle down his spine
Lets him know this is the place
A soft voice says “Now your mine”

Happily he goes with her
For from the time he was a child
He has loved this demon girl
With a torment ever so wild

Now together through eternity
Their love has finally broken
And everyone breathes easily
As the curse is never again spoken
