Persuit of Perfection

There's an angel laying in my bed, nothing but the pursuit of perfection
Our legs intertwine like thorns running up a rose's vine
across a deserted road that leads to paths of the unknown
your beautiful soul reaches through my heart that beats with the time of the hourglass clock
I pretend to sleep and close my eyes, but all I want to do is sit up and cry
I scream through the night hoping you and this pain will leave my sight
black birds fluttering like a suffocating mask that form this broken glass which reflects my past
I must give up this fight if I want to move on with my life
You'll be nothing more than a hidden shadow of desire in the moonlight
stumbling through the dark running into walls that wont break without a clean start
your deceiving eyes have proven you wrong, so for once cope with reality and realize your alone
I want you to be by my side with nothing but time but baby this would just be a loveless lie
the more you reach inside me the more I wish you could only see the real me
this dream feels so real, but impossible to grasp and feel
I beg you, please go away, so whatever comes next can stay
