Than why can't I?
All they need is a simple change in seasons
To shed what they were
Why can't I be like the leaves?
To shed my exterior
And become a bolder color
instead of remaining attached to my branches
Why can't I be like the leaves?
Certainly letting the wind lead me
Except for the lack of gusts
To be my guide
I fall
Then begin an excavation
To rekindle my lust for life
To grow green with hope, excitement, and possibility
Until the seasons change
And I revert to what I always become
A green leaf turned rust
Just waiting to fall off.
