Bloom Again

A flower is a beautiful thing,
as it proudly stands within the sunlight of spring.
It has reason to be full of pride.
As we admire it's petals and color,
we gaze upon it,
unaware that it was once another.
Had only we witnessed it's stride.
Beforehand devoid of it's character,
bare and exposed.
It had to endure the snow,
wind,
and bitter cold.
Though near death,
it refused to die.
It stood rooted through the storm,
withered,
yet not torn.
No matter how hard it's environment tried.
It remained steadfast and true.
Withstanding,
it would bloom again.
My friend,
so shall you.
