Pierced like a thorn in my heart.
Hit me like a ton of bricks.

I didn't really want to say it.
But inside i knew i must.
The times we've shared.
My heart says stay, but it's my mind i must trust.

Standing here all alone.
Watching life roll by.
Taking in those dreadful words.
....A tear drops from my eye.

How can i walk away from someone i love?
To take the road of a friend.
Can i reroute the course I've taken?
And start all over again.

May life be gentle with you.
May only the best come your way.
And on some quiet tomorrow.
You will realize things are better this way.

These three simple words.

Those three simple words.
Uttered from my lips.
Pierced like a thorn in my heart.
Hit me like a ton of bricks.

I didn't really want to say it.
But inside i knew i must.
The times we've shared.
My heart says stay, but it's my mind i must trust.
