Hospital

Rocking back and forth in the hospital room
The tock of the clock and my rocking in tune
Rocking and waiting I hear the clock chime
Such an dreadful face, my enemy is time
I rise from my chair to go walk the hall
I find it the most empty and saddest of all
each room I pass with a new wave of sorrow
I glimpse lives living on time merely borrowed
