"INBETWEENER"

Is there really an inbetween?
Indeedy there is, 'tis a lively scene.
Budding tulips wash dirt from their faces
Squirrels run 'round the May pole,
it's called "Squirrelly Races"

High hormone levels in lovebirds
Jaybirds, redbirds, blackbirds, cowbirds
Upwards, forwards, backwards,
Diving, darting, dropping wizards!

'tis not Spring, 'tis not summer
It's the season of the inbetweener!
Leafless trees, yellow grass..........
Golden dandelions dare trespass.

Summer's near, will be here soon
Ant hills, butterflies from a cocoon.
An inbetweener wets our appetites
Garden delicacies, and tummy delights!

Summer brings.........

Bird's nest in full blooming trees
Feeding their young with ease....

However,

I rather like this inbetweener
Only summer could be sweeter.
