You Can Not Kill Me

Today I have visited a place I have been before
There is not a normal entrance or exit by the means of a door
It is a place that we will all see one day
But each in our own way

Today is the day I decided to make a change and take a stand
Today I vowed it would be the last time I gave myself to Death’s hand
Tempting fate and walking away, to this point I have done several times
New life has been breathed into me as of late and I have a bright future on my mind

Today as I stared down what was to be the avenue of my demise
I held to the knowledge that “You can not kill me”, which to most is a surprise
I have already been killed, years ago. I gave my heart and they devoured my soul
To walk through Hell on Earth is no way to live, but to trick death one must be a fool

With the understanding of love and happiness in the future to arrive
There rings throughout new desires and the will to stay alive
So you see, I am right; You can not kill me
I have a bright future with much more to see
