I though I knew what kind of man
I was and wanted to be.
Then you entered my life and
opened my eyes to the reality.

I thought I knew what it was
and how to love those close to me.
I though I knew what was to scarifice
and put myself on the line totally.

I thought I knew about how
to look into others and really see.
I thought I was selfless and
held others feelings above mine completely.

Then there was you and the pain
I saw and the loneliness there seem to be.
I wanted so much to heal your pain
and take you away from your reality.

I thought if I loved you enough
I could consume your pain inside of me.
That it would free your heart
and your mind set you free totaly.

I hoped when you looked
and thought of us happiness you'd always see.
If I loved you enough it
would heal your soul all the way completely.

What I learned is I've got a long way
to go and so much to learn
And I'm sorry I couldn't do and
be what I thought what it was that you need.

I hope and pray when you look back
on our time that you know I really
tried and trully loved you
I just didn't know what or how to be what you need.

I'm so sorry...... Please forgive me.......
