a quick switch of the switch makes a swish and a wish that it really won’t sting that much this time
and leave me alone no leave me alone no leave me alone no leave
and down on my knees like everyone else but I’m doing this not for myself
and crying aloud and gritting my teeth and waiting to turn seventeen
I’m waiting to turn seventeen
and cry out for what I deserve
first place is within reach
and I deserve it all
and the switch and the swish and the swish and the itch and the itch and the sting from the switch
and leave me at home leave me alone leave me alone or just leave me
I wish you’d run away
I deserve first place
I can have anything I want
even you
when I grow up
but for now
I’m waiting to turn seventeen
I’m waiting to turn seventeen
