I feel like driftwood washed ashore,

Each wave that crashes weakens me more,

The voices of reason that whispered to me,

Lost forever on an uncharted sea.

My heart once shrouded in passion now gone,

Sorrow cloaks a light that once shone,

Romance I longed for slowly faded away,

Like a distant sunset at the end of the day.

The stars that twinkle a glowing moon,

Have immersed into darkness and eerie gloom,

The Mountain heather that covered the land,

Now burned and blackened to a twisted strand.

The sands of time unforgiving and harsh,

Like a wetland bird on a dried up Marsh,

Beds of roses once proudly grew,

Lie crumpled and covered in frosty dew.

I wander alone in search of a sign,

A kindred spirit for my soul to entwine,

Unlocking my dreams and clearing my eyes,

Lifting the clouds and brightening the skies.

Until then I shall wonder lost and alone,

My feelings trapped in this heart of stone,

flickering embers are all that remain

and a single vision that I'll find her again
