She's bad for you

Question; my friend was ready to commit suicide over the fact his girlfriend broke up with him. What can I say to him to make him forget about her and move on?
I'm out of ideas and I'm afraid that next time I won't be able to run to save him from himself. What do I do?

I really don’t know what to think anymore
At one time yeah I was sure
That you couldn’t do such a thing
But you came so close today my heads still rings

From the pain
You nearly drove me insane
I thought you had really done
But I guess you just slowly going down a hill at a run

I never thought
You’d let your mind rot
Down to my level but now
You’re threatening to cut it deep and say you’re ready to go

To a better place
You’ve told me the story but from the look on your face
I can tell you don’t want to do this no never
So do me a favor forget her

She’s a lost cause even from the start
She was just pulling at your heart
To get her way
But I didn’t tell you what I had to say

I’d tell you I told you so
Why can’t you just watch her go?
She’s bad for you
Just look at the crazy things she makes you do
