God breathed life into me, and so doth a smile from thee
Broached from a loving womb, unsullied and newly borne
Enchanting and ensnaring, against harshness granting lee
Without such noble prize, life given to the cruelest of scorn
~
What does thy face beam into my dark and lonely world?
A bonfire, stark against the pitch, not without such grace
Gentle mercy fetching my life’s faith, its remains unfurled
Nourishing as air is breathed, all woes and ills be displaced
~
Most treasured visage of my love, my one exquisite seraph
To no end do I see thy comeliness in all these earthly effects
Enticing all facets of my soul, thy smile shall be my epitaph
Thy delicate lips enshrine a plunder I ceaselessly will vex
~
Be it here or be it far, forever and a day
Thy loving smile grants me compassionate allay
