~Daisies and Butterflies~

I dream of daisies, day-dreams and butterflies.
Dreams that softly fade away,
Rose petals dropping, given freely
hope rides on colored wings of brighter days.
A tear that tries to hang on, yet escapes and slowly falls.
Wishing it to turn to ice, and break into minute crystal shards.
That can be gathered and they turn to diamond’s
each one not worth anything more than single smiles.
Each tiny crystal dividing, representing a wrong made right.
Erasing the things that never should have been,
turning everyone’s world happy and bright.
Depending on nothing at all, no one at all.
I dream of daisies, day-dreams and butterflies,
those dreams now fading away,
night is creeping in through the windows.
Shall I dream of butterflies another day?
