She was just an ordinary girl
With a friendly attitude and bubbly personality
Always the life of the party
Her friends all looked up to her, for she embodied all the things they wanted to be
There was hardly any reason for her to be afraid in her safe little world
How could she even contemplate the pain and horror that was about to unfurl?
It started out innocently enough at first
She was out with her friends, partying and dancing
When she decided to take a break
And went to buy a drink to slake her thirst
On the way to the bar she bumped into a man who seemed ever so charming and handsome
She smiled and purchased her drink
And as she passed that man again he gave her a cheeky wink
He approached her and started to speak
They conversed for quite a while
When the girl had emptied her glass
The man gave a sly smile
And said, 'Would you like me to get you another drink?'
She returned the smile and replied 'Why yes, that was nice of you to ask'
Alas the poor girls innocent Naïveté created a mask
For this man to hide behind
He found that he could lie and pretend to be kind
Just pretend to be civilized
And she won't mind giving up her time
But it was more than time that he had on his mind
He KNEW that he was about to commit a horrific crime
But he didn't care, to him she was just another body he could use
It wasn't his fault that she was too stupid to see through his ruse
As the club was getting ready to close
They left together
Strolling briskly in the crisp early morning weather
Walking on the side walk obscured by darkness
Cast by the giant sky scrapers that rose up
The man grabbed the girls hand and said ' Come with me, I know a short cut'
He directed her on to a path which
Turned into a small alleyway
The girls gut instinct told her to get away
She tried to pull out of his grasp
But his iron vice hold made her gasp
He slammed her body against the wall
Holding her against it so she couldn't move at all
He screamed at her "what the ***** do you think you're doing *****?"
And before she could make a sound he covered her mouth with a wet kiss
He forced himself upon her that night
With the knowledge that what he was doing wasn't right
And when he had finished he disappeared out of sight
When the girl left the scene she looked an awful fright
With her clothes all askew and her disheveled hair
You'd think someone would've noticed her distress
But if they did they chose to ignore it because they didn't care
She went home and into her room
Full of heavy hearted hopelessness
Turned off the light
Kept her emotions shut up tight
She soon became a portrait of gloom
She couldn't eat
Couldn't sleep
And when people tried to talk to her, she didn't speak
A shadow of her former self
She soon fell into ill health
Her weight started to deteriorate
And she ended up with a severe eating disorder
Her parents were mortified, but there was nothing they could do to help their daughter
She was going through her own personal hell
Just an empty shell
She knew she wasn't well
But still she refused to tell
Her parents, in their dismay
Decided to send her away
To a peaceful place where she could stay
And work on returning to her former self
There she would find people who would try to help
And she would try to speak of the inner pain she felt
One day she will be as she was before
All she needs to do is unlock that closed door.
