you fail to see the similar,
like ten cents and a dime.

Ego controls the words,
that sweeten up the lips,
no credit ever given,
to the creator of the quips.

Words and thoughts, like blackened gnats,
swirl about us, hoping to be chose.
Ego pick the ones it likes,
like vanity picks its clothes.

Your belief in you is right,
and yet it must be left,
if you are to grow beyond the dark,
and compensate your theft.

For you have been stealing thoughts,
decieving self for many years,
like snakes and eggs, dogs and bones,
you steal your many fears.

You see, fear is not part of you,
even though you can't believe,
if you would just embrace the scare,
I know that fear would leave.

Once you kiss your demons,
full upon the lips,
only then will you become,

When speaking of your poems,
and snubbing those who rhyme,
you fail to see the similar,
like ten cents and a dime.

Ego controls the words,
that sweeten up the lips,
no credit ever given,
to the creator of the quips.

Words and thoughts, like blackened gnats,
swirl about us, hoping to be chose.
Ego pick the ones it likes,
like vanity picks its clothes.

Your belief in you is right,
and yet it must be left,
if you are to grow beyond the dark,
and compensate your theft.

For you have been stealing thoughts,
decieving self for many years,
like snakes and eggs, dogs and bones,
you steal your many fears.

You see, fear is not part of you,
even though you can't believe,
if you would just embrace the scare,
I know that fear would leave.

Once you kiss your demons,
full upon the lips,
only then will you become,
'creator of the quips.'
