Rhymes. Lines. All in wrong times

I do not mean to scorn you,
But I did warn you.
I told you...
I love you...so many times...
Even in so many rhymes...
That you thought of as nothing more than silly lines.
Could I really settle for what was on offer?
Would it start to eat at me, become a bother?
I am not the kind of lady,
That could settle to be a wife with a baby.
You encouraged me to spread my wings,
Are you sure you are ready for what it brings?
I may grow without you,
Are you ready for that too?
You did not believe I would go,
Is that why it came as such a blow?
You finally realised what you had,
After being told so many times, you foolish lad.
