Let December Die
Call the Pastor
Tell him to bring the book
Take one long
Last second look
Say a prayer
Read the Last Rites
Then let’s watch
December die
Cut the lights
And burn the tree
Promise me baby
You’ll still believe
Don’t let go
Or give up the fight
Let’s just let
December die

The past is passed
Into the night
While dawn is cast
With New Year’s light
Stoke the fire
Let the flames rise high
Gather ‘round
Let December die

We’ll make resolutions
To change some things
Then count it down
