THE REASON WHY

My friend is dead,
I don’t know the reason why,
She was my sister, my friend,
A Starlight shinning in the midnight sky-

As the glory of God shone upon her,
With stardust dancing in her eyes,
She died,
I’ve never had the chance to say goodbye,
Neither, have I ever cried-

Now my heart sorrows and my soul grieves,
She has gone the way of the grave,
This is difficult for my mind to conceive-

Her laughter, I can hear ringing in my ears,
Her warmth I can feel,
I can nearly taste the saltiness of her tears-

She is dead, buried in a tomb,
Robbed of her potential,
That was still in her womb-

Why did she go, and why am I alive,
Warring in my mind,
Against insurmountable fears,
As my heart swells with a reservoir,
Of uncried tears-

I want to know the reason why,
She is gone,
For surely it, should be I-
