Array ( [sid] => 138208 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Lifes Bait [time] => 2007-11-02 13:28:16 [hometext] => I met a wonderful man at the legion 3 years ago who use to write in his journal everyday. He was saving his memories. Now very deep in alzheimers...he only had one wish. He wanted to fish one more time. [bodytext] =>

His memories are fading of the man and times he knew,
The names all slip away from him, needs reminders for a few.
The one thing that he can't forget is how he loved to fish.
So I took my friend to memories and granted him his wish.

I guided him to water and provided him a chair,
He remembered every moment of why I brought him there.
His smile brought forth the sunshine as I tossed him out a cast.
I knew from eyes of gratitude he'd come back home at last.

He sat for hours enjoying his time upon the beach,
I wished for every memory to fall within his reach.
I hoped that just for one day more he'd find his quiet space,
to help his heart remember every time and every place.

A better day I haven't had since granting him his wish.
He cast for catching memories, he didn't cast for fish.
I didn't get to measure all he caught that day.
Thanks Carolann as he smiled at me, was all he had to say.
