Nothing But A Girl

You said I was someone special,
with a heart of finest gold.
You said you would be quite lucky,
to have someone like me to hold.
But you know nothing about me,
or the pain I have been through.
You look at the outer me,
and see what you want to.
You said I wear my heart on my sleeve,
and my soul is soft and sweet.
I wish you could see the tears,
that every night I weep.
I walk the nights as if a demon,
possessed by the devil of hell.
He beckoned me and we made a pact,
and I had only my soul to sell.
But you see something pure as heaven,
and an angel with silken wings.
And you see me as a dreamer,
pondering on the life's things.
So, you think you see something more?
You see a diamond amongst the pearls.
I'm sorry for having to tear down your walls,
but I am nothing but a girl.
