[bodytext] => Like morning dew glistening in the light,
Or star-spun constellations from a winter's night,
My thoughts are scattered, like dust to the wind,
Looking for purchase, or maybe a friend.
Wandering through hills covered with splendor
I think not of the beauty, but only of labor.
This heart would cry, if it had only a voice,
With years left behind me, there's no room for rejoice.
Hope becomes tangible, something to hold;
You wait, and wait, until finally you're told
It's all for nothing, only a worthless trinket;
So falling to the ground, I resign and submit.
I'd cry real tears, if I knew what they're for;
Instead I have no idea why my heart is so sore.
Is it all the beauty creating nothing but pain,
Or the sadness that lingers after disdain?
