Throwing Stones

The water is shallow and warm,
Deeply, unfathomly…
A mirror to the whore.
And I, no longer brave enough,
To pursue after my desires,
Cast stones at the waters edge.
And I, now calloused from wisdom,
No longer bleed when I dream,
Nor scream when I love.
And I, lacking courage
Hide behind blindness
And pursuit of tasks
The mirror is cold and deep,
Infinite, and real…
