stinging my eyes
the hill reeks of decay
death summons the flies

the gradient is steep
an uphill battle for sure
my swordarm grows heavy
i can lift it no more

the enemy crashes down
like a huge tidal wave
my sword breaks in two
leaving the life of a slave

the sun is eclipsed
dark storm clouds move in
lightning strikes all over
the wind and the din

resistance is futile
the enemy's weapons rend
capitulation beckons
nothing left to mend

then the trumpet sounds
and the word subdues all
the herald commanding the field
she's at least ten feet tall

the power of the cross
we survivors rally around
leah hoists high the standard
and i give thanks i was found
