I was so sure I would win
I'd make him fall in love
But I'd never fall for him
I never stood a chance
And I fell so ***** hard
He was like a gust of wind
Against me, a house of cards
I put my heart on the line
I let myself trust
When he told me he loved me
I thought surely he must
I feel so foolish
For he knew all along
What he wanted was revenge
And I was just his pawn
Now he's back in her arms
And I feel so alone
He never looked back
As he was running for home

this was a very good write. You maintained the flow and cadence very well, but most important to me was the subject of the write. Very well done, indeed.
