On an innocent life,
A pure young infant,
Cursed with the strife,

Abuse so evil,
It haunted her dreams,
Depression so deep,
She plotted death schemes,

A little slice of the wrist,
To release her pain,
Just one wouldn’t hurt her,
One slice of the vein,

It was a way to keep control,
To keep her reputation,
In the darkness of her room,
She did her mutilation,

At first it was a simple thing,
Just once in a while,
But now she craved the vicious blade,
And held it with a smile,

Her friends would never understand,
They’d take her precious blade,
Her image would be shattered,
And she would slowly fade,

Her consciousness was clear now,
She gave her wrists a look,
‘One more cut’ she decided,
And that was all it took,

She wanted a big finale,
And that was what she got,
She sliced the last a bit too deep,
And now she’s left to rot. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 263 [topic] => 72 [informant] => crimson_regret420 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => self-harmpoetry )

Absolutely awesome piece. I loved it. I wish more people wpuld be more open about their cuttin. I can really relate to this poem as a former cutter. Especially the part about no one understanding. Great job.
