The children around her laughing the mood light
On a path through the woods they tread
Then to the lake where a story was read

Each carried a light lunch
And at the lake they would munch
With the ducks fruit and bread they will share
To keep all to themselves they would not dare

For Granny believes in helping everything
So extra for the birds and squirrels they did bring
They did not disturb a rock or a bush
Even if to play they were in a rush

Because the earth is special indeed
And extra care we need
To make sure all was kept as created
They picked up the trash after they were sated

So after a full day in the sun
The children learned much and had such fun
A new respect they had for the land
Next a tree would be planted where they stand

To remember this day and watch as it grows
This way many years from now they know
They would look on this spot and remember
This day with Granny before school in September

Your poem is a treasure Shari, and some day for those children when they read!
What a wonderful way to introduce Children to Mother Earths treasures. Teaching them so many lessons, like be kind to animals and always share, don't leave refuge behind to mar the apppearance for others.
Loved this poem again and again
Warm Love
consue
Thank you Shari for all you nice comments too!
