Elemental truth known only by pastors

Awoken deep in the pit of your soul
Tugging at your search
Disconnected at birth and all in line
Enforced beliefs taken in mind
If you bow your head you’ll be just fine
But get too close you’ll end up behind

Only going so far to be stopped at the lights
A one way system, one set of rights
Distracted with menial tasks
Never having time to ask

Who, where, why, when, how?

Struggling to think, scared to drink
Afraid of something, unable to blink

Control the masses

Most definately 'something'.
I can relate to the overall message suggested, here.
Forever searching for something...finding everything but nothing.
Because we all believe in something which does not exist.
Being stopped at the border of our destinies...being denied truths.
Just like fake jewels.
The only thing higher than kings are peasants.
Because ignorance is bliss.
And knowledge is a burden.
Perhaps?
