Born into a darkening world
As the sun sets during our childhood
We live our lives in darkness
Seeing our world as moonlight and shadow
Grey and silver, mere shades
Of what it might be like
Bright colors under sunlight.
Some wander in the darkness,
Afraid of what lies behind,
Drifting from place to place,
Never stopping, never content.
Some cower as the sun goes down,
Afraid to move for fear of harm,
They spend all night in the same place,
Never exploring, never knowing.
Some live as though the sun will not rise
And all their deeds done in darkness
Will never be seen by the harsh light of day.
Some spend their night obsessed with day
Too worried about the future
To see the world around them.
I glow.
I embrace the beauty of the night
Yet retain my vision of what it might be
What it could be,
In daylight.
If I could meet one single soul
Share one night, one night alone
With another who can see the beauty
As I do…
One night spent with them
And I would gladly face the brilliance of the dawn.
Unafraid, without regrets.
Give me one night to live,
We have only one night,
Be with me this one night,
Glow with me this night...

Great write. I think we sometimes hide ourselves in the darkness because its feels safe, but are we truely alive without going into the light? keep up the great work

BRAVO!BRAVO BRAVO!
Kyarn this poem was not only Great, but absolutely SENSATIONAL!!! I've never read a poem that catches society as it truly is today.
You are wonderful with words......and you are right on target for observing every day life, and darkness that people wander in all their lives!!!Then the light that you see and want to share with others..........I can't tell you how much I loved reading this beautiful insightful poem. You have inspired me to write another poem......your reminded me of one I've wanted to write for so long, and completely forgot all about!
WELCOME KYAN to YPDC.we all love each other very much, and now we can love you too!
Thanking you also for your nice comment on my funny poem. So glad you enjoyed it as well
Warm love and keep up the good work!
