I would not know what to do
I’ll leave what I found when I arrived
This delinquency of sadness
All around the people knew
The girl behind the mask was you

Shades that reflect my image
Cover your blue filled eyes
Reverberating back my face
When I stare at you hard
A smoky entrance the fire burns
Convenient courage returns

Backwards Words
Your speech is slurred
The intensity of the moment
Has you highly over concerned
Did you think you would never see me
Did you think that I hadn’t learned
Now you stand hesitantly silent
Like never before

A dyslexic mind
You just can’t find the rhyme
Hushed and voiceless you stare
Jumbled messages in the thin air
I can’t see you, from way up here
On a high horse I ride
The ghost riding cowboy in the sky

Poise and grace define
A paradox in societal norms
Is one a dog or a fox?
Are you the rabbit eaten for lunch?
Are you really trapped in this box?
A mime you have become
Unable to move your arms
Are you alive standing there?
Or are you just numb?

A memento of our encounter
We can shake hands or kiss
Which ever is your pleasure
Oh no stop, please I insist
Keep that ring on your finger
You need it more than I
I am with words and no fever
You are sick and will surely die

BRAVO!BRAVO!BRAVO! If I could be there and hear you recite this masterpiece, I would stand and give you a hearty hand, my friend!
Rarely do I have the opportunity to read a poem as accurate as this one. You have nailed it right on the head, jyssvw. The description of the character of most people today......I loved the part of you not taking back the ring!!! SickSickSick they are, and you must ride high........or get you rheart broken, and then sigh.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading this over and over........I'm sending it to all my friends with your permission. The last part where she is numb!!!Exactly--people now-a-days simply have no feelings, and that's why they can hurt us, and then think "Well, it didn't hurt me, so why should it hurt you!"
Tremendous talent.....marvelous!!!!
Warm Love,
Lovingcritters

A masterpiece? Oh yes indeed---but that is the tangled web you weave...Lovely! I love your work. You truly are a master of your craft...I wonder whom you speak of??
