Array ( [sid] => 9347 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Thank's Mom [time] => 2002-12-28 01:00:00 [hometext] => A tribute to my mom for her birthday-in gratitude for alway's standing beside me, through my divorce, through the birth of my premature grandchild , etc., etc., [bodytext] => Are we the same
or are we different inside?
Sharing laughter in joy
or pain in the tears we have cried.
You taught me to be strong
and face what I must.
To let go of what I am powerless to
and exercise more trust....
in a Higher Power that has
been there from the start.
Who has given me compassion
and such an emotional heart.
You have taught me to think
and weigh the importance of things,
in tacking my problems
and the trials they bring.
You are tough on the surface
but on the inside you are not.
Offering gifts of unyielding love
in the many thing you have bought.
The real love you have to offer
comes from deep inside.
It has been there unceasingly
and does not really hide.
I came into your life
as a premature baby too.
Just like the great-grandchild
my daughter gave to you.
A comple circle formed
one generation to another.
I owe you so much gratitude
for your are more than just my mother.
You are a source of unfailing devotion
that has remained through out the years.
You helped me through the rough times
and pushed me through my fears.
I know it has not been easy
as a part of me slipped away.
I needed time to sort out my life,
time to just think and pray.
Sometimes in our sufferings
to heal we must grieve alone,
finding a way to put to rest
the lives we once had known.
I never would have made it down
this long and winding road.
Money could never repay
the debt to you thats owed.
You love me unconditionally
always with out reserve.
Mom I could never come close
to giving you what you deserve.
I hope you know that I appreciate
all you do for my children and me.
You gave me a lot of encouragement
in being who I am meant to be.
Maybe in some ways we are different
and maybe we are really the same.
On thing remains constant
and never ever will change.
I am proud of all you are
even if it does not always show.
My love for you will never cease
but only continue to grow.
