Dedicated to my best friend and partner, my beautiful Urszula. Always there for me. Thanks baby.
Thoughts on how I'd like my final hour to be,
I don't want to be rushed. [bodytext] => Softly dim the light of day
Don't abruptly cut it short,
Leave me awhile in reverie
Or all would be for naught.

I need a moment to recall
The loves that I have shared,
Of wondrous bodies intertwined
And tender hearts laid bare.

Of life's highways and byways
And the road one has to walk,
Of strangers met along the way
Of music, dance and talk.

And how the meadows danced in green
Upon springs morning breeze,
And babbling brooks with water clear
Wind murmuring through the trees.

The laughter of young children
A mother bathed with pride,
A soldier marching off to war
Hoping God is on his side.

Yeah let me tarry here awhile
I know your urge is strong,
But when I leave with you this night
I'll be a long time gone.

I have lived my life to the full
There are no tears to shed,
And though my hour is at hand
I have no fear, no dread.

The many roads I walked through life
Have led me to this end,
But mine has been a fortunate life
For you see I had a friend.

So now with you I journey
My thoughts are all composed,
I know my Makers waiting
Let's not keep Him, take me home [comments] => 8 [counter] => 241 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Fwog [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Christina, I am sorry for this upset caused.
My beautiful partners name is Urszula, and I just know that when my time is at hand, I am going to consider myself fortunate that I had her in my life.
From comments you have posted about your mom, I see how blessed you were to have her as your mom and friend. And she to, having you as her daughter.
As lonely and sad as her passing is my friend, your heart and soul are filled with her.
And she walks with you each day.
Hugz
