Ahh.. past love is dead
let the words be said
nary a tear filled eye
nor sad darkened skies,

~*~

forever to sit and write
by candle's unwithered light
spare me then until I die
leave no sad or happy sigh,

~*~

of lies and heart's frost
memories soft luster lost
there is no longer trust
may the love rot in dust...

Wistful yet resigned, determined even; this poem evokes a strong emotion response.

Excellent.

Ahhh.. I'm starting to see it now.. Especially with this poem.. You and I have very similar writing styles as well as format in punctuation, or lack there of I should say.. I try to keep it as simple as possible.. So seems you.. I did like this one.. Short, as well it needed to be.. It's a very nice poem.. Take care....

Nessa this is very sad and brought a tear to my eye. that last stanza was particularly poignant.

Memories soft luster lost.....

I will be thinking of that line for a long time
