all these thoughts in my head
its like im contagious
they're afraid that i will spread
dont dare to come within range
dont come too close
its like i'll kill them
like im an overdose
an overdose of reality
of what life really is
but they wont hear it
they wont face this
feeling so depressed
feeling so low
like im looking up
from down below
but all that's above me
it's all fake in my eyes
we're all left to listen
to all their fake lies
but i see what is true
that there is no real purpose
ive been high on life for too long
im simply overdosed

i have become so difficult
all these thoughts in my head
its like im contagious

A very powerful poem. I like how you show your difference from the others as a communicable presence and not just something to avoid. Insightful to describe that as viral-like. As a society, we aren't terribly tolerant of difference despite our thoughts otherwise (note: I say our and we in terms of society and not as any specific individuals). One thing your poetry does - and this is clearly no exception - is to startle us with what is obvious but we seem to miss regardless. You are in our face, not that's a bad thing, and we need to see you. Having said that, however, it is so clear that being different costs a terrible price with no sense of it abating. Oh Jennie, I just wish just once that you could be truly happy.
