Array ( [sid] => 9128 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Jars of Clay [time] => 2002-12-23 17:20:00 [hometext] => This poem is about God, the Potter, forming and shaping His Creation in His own image. [bodytext] => The Potter chooses the clay, molding, and shaping it into a vessel of His own design. An empty vessel, made to contain treasure beyond price. The creation is formed and given life, made perfectly by the Potter’s hand. Standing alone, in separation from its maker, the earthen vessel cracks in the arid dryness of sin’s desolation, until the Potter comes with refreshing springs of Living Water, reviving the soul living apart from God. Molding, pressing, shaping the vessel into His own image, the Potter uses this sometimes-painful process to smooth the rough edges and cracks, inflicted by the world’s rough wind. Every vessel is different, but every one must go through the molding and firing process of His purifying, All- Consuming Fire. Living lives Holy, and blameless in His sight, we, His chosen vessels, continually empty ourselves of the doubts and fears that so often fill and overwhelm us. Then pouring into ourselves His Word, renewing our minds, He fills us with the power of His presence. The Potter is Faithful, forever keeping His Sovereign hand upon us, until He comes again in the fullness of time to claim the Jars of Clay for which He has labored and bled and died. Wow...I really like this. If only I could empty my vessel without refilling it so often.
This was very powerful and inspiring.
God Bless,
Crazee Momma
