In the evening
when the day
is slowly fading

As the sun gives up
its struggle
for the skies

And it asks for peace
in painted shades
of glory

Then slips silently
from sight
of watchful eyes

I will clear my mind
and relish in
the moment

Knowing well that times
of calm like this
are few

Wishing that the world
would be this way
forever

In the evening
just before the day
is through.

Larry, if I could just live in that moment forever ... I really like this piece ... the simplicity adds to the beauty of a perfect moment appreciating all that life can be.

The world does need a bunch more calmness, it is harder and harder to find. Nice write! If only for a moment, I was there.

:)

Thanks, Larry. Finally, after trawling too many pages to pay my 3 for 1 deal, I have found a posting I can read and feel satisfied that I have read a poem. And a picturesque and serene one at that.

What a feeling of tranquillity this left me with.. I spent the last weekend up in the mountains and this was the feeling I had while up there...
Great imagery...

Beautiful you have the heart of a poet a gift
that few have and fewer put to use. This
poem is about peace and you portray that
wonderfully with your choice of words. Thank
you for sharing this.
