The shadows of a tear
Are gleamless in their hopelessness.
The darkness intensifies with fears
Leaving wake of loneliness.
The past was never left behind,
And my future is for a wasted life.
The present slowly dies,
And blood taints the sands of time.
The shadows of what could be
Are drowned in the tears of blood.
The suffocation by the red sea
Brings death to what was never enough.
My life is only wasting away,
And I just let it fade.
My life is so full of hate,
And it takes so little for one to fray.
It takes so little before one dies
From the shadows that were cried.

Shadowed by Inner Demons
The shadows of a tear

| Again, great stuff. Emotional write that conveys so many feelings that come from that one particular theme. Oddly enough, that second stanza seemed to strike such a strong chord with me, it might even measure up to the brilliance of the conclusion of yours, (lol btw, i loved the conclusion :P ) all of which were entirely relatable. I've been through situations such as these, where all avenues are open, but never walked for whatever reason, and it's so constricting. Loved this piece. |

These 4 simple lines explain how i have felt many many times over the last few yrs .
Your poem reached deep inside of me and touched something I had long forgotten I had .
