Strung on a silver thread
I throw the wet chain into the air
And wonder why there are no more children here

No more small hands
No more small voices in the stale air
And in the children garden
Weeds have grown over
And now nothing remains
Of the faces that once smiled for me

Only a reflection of there once was
Lies in still water
Into it i cast a stone
And the water moves in circles

I still wait here
Though I do not know what for
The sun shines for this place no longer
And the wind has grown so cold
At night the music box strains its old notes
And theres a melodie on the wind
Of small voices that once spoke to me

The autumn wind sweeps the streets clear
I am so completely alone
Time stands still
And I am cold [comments] => 4 [counter] => 151 [topic] => 25 [informant] => gequetscht [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )
