from a life on the run
these shoes can't continue
their colors no fun
they don't shine, nor do they sparkle
they can't run another mile
because their worn and their torn
and they refuse to smile

these shoes could tell you a story
of alleys in which they've lived
of crack whore beds
and needle dreams
of nothing left to give
their falling apart
ripping at the seems
because the girl who wears these shoes
can't stop her whore schemes

the sex was never welcomed nor good
and the drugs don't last that long
and now these shoes have stopped
running

Comments are open for those to critic the content of the poem, not the author's life. Thanks, but I didn't ask for your opinion about my family issues...so please don't judge like you know the situation. Also, not that it matters, if you read my introductory to the poem, you would see that I said "one point in my life", refering to past tense. I don't feel that way anymore, and even if I did, it isn't your place to tell me to get over it. Alright, thank you.

Regards,
Tink
