When you are a baby you first learn to cry,
And all of the tears form like crystals in a glass blower's eye.
A tiny little bottle is built up inside,
Because the artist knows you will continue to cry.
Over the years it's been easily filled,
And then you learn to swallow your tears.
They have no place to go,
But that tiny little bottle built up inside long ago.
When the tears reach the limit and begin to spill over,
The tiny swallowed tears in your eyes begin to show,
And you hide yourself away crying into your pillow.
You discover if you cover all of your worries and fears,
The bottle grows bigger inside and holds more tears.
For awhile you think you've got it down,
And you watch as the bottle grows,
Then suddenly you're wondering,
If the tiny little bottle might explode... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 175 [topic] => 32 [informant] => calista [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

This is an excellent poem. That's an interesting way to relate the poem to the bottled up feeling you get when you supress your tears. I love it!
Katie
