Seems that my life is defined, but yours hangin by a knife
As the distant waters quiver to discover your shore
I sit and wonder what you have in store
If you let the warmth in for a while
Maybe you’d feel like the chosen one
Because you’re a flower
The only flower that shies away from the sun
The only flower whose growth hasn’t yet begun

You think my ears are closed but they’re open
The choices you make are always so safe
I’m so scared you’re gonna look back all broken
Move away from this lack of faith
Start eating more than one thing for a while
And make sure you leave this life with more than one taste
You need to find the keys cos you’ve been searching for so long
Because you’re a flower
The only flower that shies away from the sun
The only flower that must find her reason to belong
And start growing in the sun

I agree with the others, this is just absolutely adorable!
Beautiful flow, and great rhyme.
You've managed to send your message across to the reader quite well, and I've just fallen in love with this...

Is this a tribute to me?
*Lol *…
Because I often feel as such.
Regardless, this is a beautiful piece.
You have some rather intriguing metaphoric descriptions…
“distant waters quiver to discover your shore”

So simply expressed yet what complex significance it entails.
I can entirely relate.
“If you let the warmth in for a while
Maybe you’d feel like the chosen one”

“Move away from this lack of faith
Start eating more than one thing for a while”
-My very circumstance…how peculiar!

Very inspirational.

And to think we are all flowers--making the choice to soak up the sun, to shy away or to bow beneath it's glory...

This is a timeless piece and masterly written.
