I will always love you darling memory recall
Goodbye my love may you find your dream
Waterfall of tears flowing in a tidal stream

Beauty thrust from the image of his mind
Wanting to hate her they say love is blind
Gathering his thoughts stepped away
Almost changed his mind action replay

With a heavy heart he climbed the stairs
To an empty bed that once was theirs
Looking for contentment an empty space
Lost without consuming love to embrace

Outside sounds of laughter in the dark
Words haunting his mind a caustic remark
He never knew lonely could be so blue
Never knew lonely could tear you in two

Funny some of the things you miss when your loved one isn't there, even the silly things like when she forgets to put the milk back in the fridge.
When my wife gets home today I will remind her how much I love her.........your poem reminded me of that.

yeah it's weird! I recently split with my partner and after about 5 weeks (took me a time!) i started feeling lonely. Thats the thing about familiarity, people become almost a habit! and when they're gone you get those cravings like trying to give up smoking again!

Just goes to prove the saying is true: you don't realize what you have til it is gone.

(I went to work in Washington state for a few months. I am glad to be back.)

Man your poems just reach out and grab me. You have wonderful talent that shines through. Your words are so inspiring. You take a simple thing in life and make it so much more. You have just earned yourself a spot with my favorites on this site. :-) God i wish i could write as good as a great many of you. Though that is what makes the best writers of today. Originality, and uniqueness. You my friend give a new meaning to both. Very well expressed. Well done.

Wonderful description of what happens when two-in-love are separated by location when it is unused to. I feel the same way when he has to go away on buisness (which isn't very often), Beautifully done.
Blessings, J.
